Who wouldn’t recognize such difference between these two strong female leads? One who gets a shiver of pleasure from the attention and praises of other people while the other one abhors the whole existence of intimacy and affection from other people.

Well basically, I think the bottom line is what they get from living off from the opinions of others or/and disregarding them.

Kyoko’s case was pretty much given, and the reason why she got assigned to “Love Me”section was, she lacks that trait of actresses to desire love and affection from the audience. A complete opposite of Yukino because she’d gladly have that spot in order to make herself look good and favorable in front of others. These two are just compatible that I think they must stick together to help out what’s missing from one another. They complement each other and I think one could learn from the other.

Kyoko experienced already some sort of a ‘trauma’ in being a relationship, which is why she refuses now to be committed in any, as well as abandoning hope she’ll be able to appreciate love and affection. She was able to break out of her shell and able to toss that weakness of her of being so passive. She learned to take the initiative and transformed herself into someone who seeks retribution to what was done to her. But then, she is still frightened that she will end up afflicted once again by the pain of being toyed with.

In contrary, Yukino has been hiding her real self skillfully through her mask. The bad side though, is that she’s never been hurt before and she’s been already used already to the crowd praising her so she now ended up being afraid to show her true self. Even if her facade can’t feel the pain, her real self does feel the pain. This is why she is terrified that she might get hurt once she reveals her true self to everyone. If she can’t overcome that hurdle, she won’t be able to freely express herself.

So, what’s parallel between these two? Why the heck is it so important for these two people to confine their selves with the opinions of others? The diverging point though is that Kyoko is being forced while Yukino is wilful.

I really don’t care about the damn “Love Me” section. Kyoko is Kyoko. Why is it that the LME president insists Kyoko to be trained in order to learn and recall those feelings of “love” ? I find it rather cheesy at first, and vague. From what I’ve understood, actresses and actors must have that sentiment of wanting to be loved by the viewers, in order to act out, not for their own satisfaction, but for other people; thus to invoke the empathy of the audience. I find this rather twisted because I don’t think actresses and actors should be obliged on wanting to please other people, or so to say, even if they are indebted to their fans that they still have their jobs. This is rather the wrong concept in the world of entertainment! Actors and actresses are treated as merchandise to be sold, which is why they are forced to fabricate that facade that everyone supposedly likes, instead of acting, in behalf of themselves alone. I just can cite what happened to Risette from P4, just by talking about the topic. I think an actress or actor can still invoke that empathy of the viewers as long as she acts from within her true self, even if she disregards the opinions of others.

Kyoko’s current disposition is somewhat telling her to be a superficial icon in the industry. Does Kyoko just worth that much? If Kyoko can act, then so be it, I don’t know why it has to be propelled by one’s affinity towards being loved by the audience or viewers. It’s as if the series says that for an actor or actress, to act good, he/she should be vain enough to be wanting to be loved and praised by the people around him/her. I don’t think it gives justice, because that states that actors and actresses should be conceited. Is acting all about that? lol, I don’t know.

Meanwhile, I don’t know what’s gotten to Yukino for her to go on a quest for being the Queen of Vanity. Same way as Kyoko, she is also restrained by the fact that in order to be the best among the best, she must be favorable and pleasing to other people, it’s just that she’s the one who voluntarily succumbed into this belief. Yukino possesses that “desire” to be loved by everybody and because of that, she has divulged herself in creating the “model student” mask in order to be the center of attention and compliments.

Yukino has soon realized that all the pandering she has done, has actually made her a rigid person. She learned her lesson the hard way, and she has to pay for all her postponed debts. If only Kyoko would be able to know what happened Yukino after living off from the opinions of others, I doubt Kyoko would still prefer to became a proud member of “Love Me”. Love Me section seeks her to become a refined actress, by bringing back her desire for others’ affection, by having everybody love the way she acts, but I doubt this will help her to be a good actress. It might help but it might also just end up producing a fake personality of her, which only has the agenda to please other people, but is actually empty inside. This is why I like the present Kyoko who just acts on her own accord, and not necessarily to please the audience.

Kyoko thinks pleasing everyone is stupid. I think so too. Kyoko must tell this to Yukino’s face so she’ll stop pretending to be a perfect being. The longer Yukino tries to preserve that exterior of her, the more it becomes precarious once other people finds out the truth.

====================

I didn’t focus much on Yukino because I already made an elaborate entry about her. I really don’t know why such an interesting plot since 2002 just got animated later after 6 years.

Skip Beat! seemed to me as a cheezy shoujo anime when I first heard it. I tried searching it on the net and what I got was the picture of Kyoko with a seemingly BALLET dress so I quit the idea of reading it. I thought it has something to do with music and dance which is heavily implied on the title and the picture I saw years ago (specifically from the Wikipedia entry).

If I have to guess how long the anime would be adapted, I think it has to be about 70 episodes since one issue of the manga is 31 pages and enough already to make a complete cliffhanger for the next chapter. Regarding the anime, I don’t know why Kyoko was seen in the OP of the anime with long hair since her hair is still the short one. I hope the Production company doesn’t fabricate the storyline of the anime once it draw near the latest chapters.

It’s been a while since I saw the common face faults from anime shows and it refreshes my mind from keeping on seeing smooth animations and transitions of the character faces.

Kyoko might seem very plain and ordinary girl when you see her but her skills is very notable and I’m just amazed on how it became useful for her showbiz life just like her training on the tea ceremony and hotel keeping. Also, she always seem to be older than what her age really is. She is only 16 during the introduction (17 since she celebrated her birthday already) and she must still be studying but that damn Shoutaro tricked her and that cause her to stop her studies. She is actually so damn responsible! She attends school, shooting doramas, goes to her part time(Bo), and attends as well on the LME acting workshop all at the same time!!! Kyoko just think differently compared to the characters I’ve encountered in animes. She always appear to be dumb though she is actually very smart(her grades are top notch!) in strategizing and synthesizing her own role on how to portray it. This is her unique personality that differentiates her from other characters. It must have been due to her past experiences that she has basis on her roles but I just can’t seem to predict what she thinks about the characters’ personality based on the synopsis samples given to her.

Even though the story has revolved already for 131 chapters(as of), the only thing I don’t like is Kyoko’s dependence towards Ren which is sometimes uncalled for. She always tend to be reliant to Ren’s decisions which I really think not so right even though their relationship to each other just seems to be not just colleagues anymore. I don’t see any chance anymore for Shou to be committed once again to Kyoko but he is still important part of the story since the vengeance plot is still around although it is not the primary reason anymore.

Kotonami has been “cast away” and I hate this idea since I thought she’ll be with Kyoko and they’ll both become famous in the industry at the same time. Sawara-san also seemed to be forgotten during the latest chapters even though he was the very first one to help Kyoko to enter the industry. The beagles(Vie Ghoul) also vanished into thin air and I wasn’t able to hear anything from them anymore as well as Shou.

The manga is a worthy read and it is very decent for all ages. It might just become my favorite anime this year so I hope the anime adaptation follows the manga!~

Wow! I’ve been keeping up with the series like Toradora!, Clannad AS, Gundam 00 S2, Tales of Abyss and Nodame Cantabile: Paris Chapter. I’ve added a new show to my list and it’s Skip Beat. I’ve already heard of it before the animation itself from my friend but it was shoujo so I wasn’t interested at all in the first place since I found the plot (which revolves around SHOW-BIZ) very cheesy or I might very — ughh… What I’m thinking before was the very thought Kyoko had when she first heard the name Love Me Section which really choked me to laughter.

Anyway, Nodame has only 11 episodes and I’m very sad that it won’t last long unlike the first which really satisfied me a lot. Many mentioned Nodame being the independent these days. She also exhibited a very unexpected move from the episode 5. I might consider reading the manga if I get too much excited in the ending of this chapter.

With the Tales… I’m not very optimistic that I’ll still be able to blog this one but I’m also playing right now the game and I’m already at 2/3 of the game. My very first pertaining to hate Luke was what the viewers are currently experiencing. I hope their love for Luke come back once he cuts his hair. This would mark his change in the game and much mature thinking. Many disclosures would be revealed pretty soon in the anime and maybe the viewers already got their clues about Luke and Natalia. Sync’s identity is pretty obvious already.

I’m really enjoying myself watching Skip Beat and I really got hunches that Shoutaro is Mamoru Miyano which I got right but I didn’t expected that Kyoko and Ren is Yoko and Kamina XD. With the ordinary thinking of humans, I expect people would also refer Kyouko as a persistent, trying hard and desperate foolish woman trying to climb the stairs by leaping ahead. Even so, I find it interesting because I also want to see Shoutaro’s face when he got face to face with Kyoko reborn.

Clannad AS is still dramatic as ever and I find the previous episodes the resolution for the supporting characters such as Sunohara himself, Mei-chan, Misae-san and currently, it’s Yukine’s part. I think the rest would follow before the truth unfolds with the main character and the heroines. I just don’t know when Fuko would show up. I’ve read few spoilers from the visual novel from Wikipedia but… I just don’t know how to react if that would be the really thing to happen. The robot and weird girl is very annoying as the first preview Xd.

Toradora! is so-so, I’ve been accustomed to it already but I don’t see anything new or any thing that would get my hopes up about the show except Minorin’s horror face. I don’t see anything out of ordinary… Anyway, maybe the anime is still introducing the full cast and now that Ami-chan have completed the slots, maybe the true twists and character developments would slowly begin to progress.

I have nothing to say about Gundam 00 S2…haha lol. I want the plot and I’m currently waiting what’s the plan with all that Mr. Bushido crap.

I remember going to 4chan every Sunday because of the Code Geass R2 craze but all of those are gone… I’m missing all those “fanfictions” all the anons are coming up because of the screwed up plot of R2. I guess Code Geass’ timeline is already finished.

I lost interest with Jigoku Shoujo and Ga-rei… so maybe I’ll be watching them next year?…
