Formalities

Yeah, What the hell topic. I don’t know but people here in my university seeeems very fond of it and I don’t know why. We had this assembly that obliges us to dress ourselves in corporate attire. They pisses me off. I heard that there would be visitors and we were used so that the university would look like something “good”. Forget the formalities, they used us so that they would get a good impression? We, the males, had ourselves almost look like our professor in accounting and it is very annoying. The assembly also started late. My precious Friday was wasted. They just let us meet our future professors.
The College of Liberal Arts had their assembly without any restrictions, you can wear decent clothes where you are comfortable, you can skip it as well if you like. I don’t know why our college the only one who did such thing.
Tsk, tsk, formalities, formalities. Look at what time we started. They are formal but not punctual. They’ve got guts to have us wait in this attire. I almost fell asleep during the assembly because of the boring speeches(actually not almost because I had a nap of 5 minutes I guess). I can’t help it. I already attended an assembly of my organization at about 9:00 am so I woke early, considering Friday should be a rest day.
The university is making a fuss about a “mere formality”. Can they make profit of that?
I don’t know if I made friends today but I tagged along with them since they are the only ones around the school that I know. (During the assembly of my organization)
