I’ve already known this anime for a long time but this is the only time my brother downloaded it… It caught my attention because it has the anime reactor’s best sci-fi anime award. Well, the first thing that entered my mind was Digimon because it has something to do with cyberspace/digital things but it is really different on a very higher level.
It is very sci-fi I say because the world where the character lives is very futuristic. Where you can call somebody by simply using hand gestures. Where 4D is already present. Yes, I think Time/Space has been part of the dimension already in this anime. (As if I’m into Physics too much…) If ever the future people would be able to achieve what is depicted in this anime, I’ll gladly be a member of the Megabaa’s Agency. I was shokku when I saw the “Mikuru-beam” in the show. I think it is pretty cool and I think if I was a generation of that epoch, I’ll gladly waste my time exploring the cyberspace and the “Illegals” + I can write blog entries anywhere! Isn’t that convenient? I’m very annoyed when I forget things which is supposedly a good entry.
I envy the characters in the anime because they have hacking skills… Well yeah, I know it is bad, but I think it is pretty handy…Hahaha(welcome to the dark side)… They are also very skillful to computer commands… I also want to learn lots of stuffs about computers and the cyberspace..
Well, I hope you can gain something without something to sacrifice…(oops, that violates the law of equivalent trade from FMA).Even though cyberspace has been discovered, organic materials began to cease their existence. Animals like dogs are on the verge of their extinction because people on their world prefer cyberpets. At first, I thought it was a great world to live in. Regardless of the convenience, there were dangers that roam on the streets of every city. There are viruses that could modify traffic light to cause car accidents, viruses that kill the cyberpets. Maybe I just fell on the trap with the nature of humans to desire convenience…
Enough with the escapade from reality. Overall, the anime is interesting because it is about cyberspace.(by the way, I don’t watch animes that are not interesting so this phrase might be very common) It is a great way to escape reality in several minutes to dream about a world where you could access anything in the world with just a snap of a finger. So if you are so bored and you hate this world, this anime might help.
*cyberspace is something similar to virtual reality

Dango, dango…(wth!)
And so… This time I quite see some Tomoyo(s) around the anime blogosphere so I told myself I think I should check out Clannad myself and there~~ One thing that motivated me to watch this series on the first place is Tomoyo. I’ve been seeing avatars where she is on the action. I thought it was just “fanpic” so I didn’t bother but I did saw it on the series so I was dumbfounded when I immediately saw it on episode 1.
I’m impressed… Yes, they didn’t came up with any Uguus~ , Auus~ and Gaus~ this time. Well, I have to say though that Fuko’s arc is very Kanon-ish and Air-ish… Well, I can’t blame them. I think they are fond of that plot twist. I’m not saying that it is bad. It is just predictable though(for those who watched Air and Kanon like me). There was also this wheat field with strange lights. I think I saw it from both Air and Kanon.
I don’t know what does the starfish symbolizes throughout the series(or maybe they just want it to be starfish). I have to admit it, I also want to receive that sculpture Fuko holds XD. By the way, I have researched what it symbolizes and I think it quite figures why they chose starfish as the symbol.
In Christian symbolism the Starfish represents the Virgin Mary (Stella Maris which means Star of the Sea) who lovingly creates safe travel over troubled waters and is also seen as an emblem of salvation during trying times. The star as well as the Starfish are seen as celestial symbols and as such, they represent infinite divine love. In addition to love, the Starfish also holds characteristics such as guidance, vigilance, inspiration, brilliance and intuition.
One thing I’ve also notice was the similarity of Ryou and Kyou with Kagamin and Tsukasa… They both have purple hairs as well. Oh well, I’ll still choose Kagamin and Tsukasa because they are cuter.(Lucky Star was also earlier aired than Clannad)
Even though, they’ve got some concepts from both Air and Kanon, I think they also provide some new ones. Just like having a gangstah and 1000 kicks. This was the also the first time the Key made the male protagonist have his problems as well. I can see that the male protagonists in both Air and Kanon are more laidback than Tomoya because they didn’t have any personal problems.(oh, they have — problem with the girls).
People who have watched Tomoyo’s chapter(ep.24) mistook it as the ending!!! Oh come on people. Clannad ended on its episode 22. The summer special(ep. 23) is also specified as something similar to OVA. The fansubbers are also a little at fault because the titling is wrong…
I hope I’ll see Fuko awoke on the After Story.

Yeah right, as if I’m a bibliophile. But I’m not. But I feel good when I’m surrounded by books. I’m not so much into reading books though. As far as I know I can count the books I have finished reading in my hands XD. BUT! If its fiction and anime-related I think(yes, I’m very motivated) I can read and finish it.
Moribito series were first published as literature materials for the children because it is a great example of book that could drag you in the flow of the story. The thing is, the story itself is just too fantastic for the kids, it had many adult fans so I guess this can be put to the category “I’m so lazy to read it so please turn it to an anime”. Geez, even I admits that it is boring to read books especially when they are way too predictable. Well, I guess this one is different. It falls under historical fantasy. It maybe fiction, but the author’s brilliant ideas makes it as if it really happened. The parallel universe concept of the story also intrigues me a lot because I rarely see stories that uses it because it’s way toooo fiction so I think I’ll recognize it for that.
It also very enjoyable because Balsa embarks on a journey. Journey/Adventure animes are always whimsical because you don’t know what happens next. I grew to like InuYasha(even though it has many episodes) because of its adventure as well. Balsa is same in that way but also different. She didn’t embark on a journey to battle ugly monsters just to defeat the wicked boss at the end(I’m referring to Naraku). Because it is historical fantasy, there are overflowing ideas of the author that is shown in the story. I don’t even know if it is true or not(or do I even care). I just love how the story goes.
I really want to read the books if ever they just made the first volume in order to made some advertisement for the book. Uhm, I guess even if they made the anime for all the Moribito series, I still prefer to keep the books because I bet it contains some information that is different from the anime!~ Then, I’ll be able to criticize if the anime is of the same level as the book. Sounds fun right~ I find this enjoyable because I occassionaly keep an eye to books. I already said to my brother that I want a copy so I think I’ll be expecting it this year! I hope my brother would give an effort to look for the book…
By the way, I’m not expecting for the whole series of the book. I think the first volume is the only one translated so far (Seirei no Moribito).

And yes… I have finished Kure-nai because I was intrigued when I saw it weeks ago on several anime blogs.
This anime is sooo great! I become so compulsive to dug up my 4th year high school stuffs again because I remember similar piece with the anime. I dug all my stuffs. It is included in a special volume of our hand-outs. But I didn’t found it >_< I was so agitated why the heck I lost it. I was so desperate that I even ask my former classmate if she still remember where she kept it and if she could scan it for me… But she doesn’t remember
. It was until I researched in the internet. I realized that it was in Tagalog! How am I suppose to post it as an entry if only few people could understand it XD. By the way, the piece I’ve been searching is titled(somehow~ I can’t remember the exact title) Liham ni Estella Zeehandelaar — In English, A Letter from Estella Zeehandelaar (something like that~ but I’m sure with the person’s name) and the author is Raden Ayu Kartini.
I can really relate with the setting of the anime because we have had studied it on one of our subjects during high school, this “evil tradition” to seclude women of certain countries from the outside world. Well, it was just great that I have to blog it. I was kind of searching for this kind of animes to gather and collect animes that can proof that animes are not worthless stuffs. It is good that I found an anime that I could relate with pieces that deals Feminism.
The ending of both the anime and the piece I’ve read is nearly the same. They both didn’t reached this so-called freedom that they say but they are trying their best in order to break the chains and discard this evil tradition of them. It is just very Feminist right?(Considering that the author is male). Their motive as well is to find someone that they could truly love and not someone that was picked for them. By the way, the setting of the piece I mentioned is in Indonesia. I don’t know if traditions like that also exists on Japan. The difference is just, the woman on the piece got no any bodyguard. She is locked on the room since the day she turned 16.
Feminism was also shown through Tamaki, Yayoi and Benika of course. It really is very visible(having just a one male character). It was just annoying that the female lead has to be a child(unwanted pedos are also lured -_-).
The story must have been more realistic without the “horn”/”spike” that comes out every now and then. Just that. I didn’t say that it ruined the show but it would be more awesome if it is more realistic without the ninja stuff. It satisfied my hunger for action. The 720 degrees kicks are just cool@! I don’t know why Shinkurou is often depicted as weak when he is very strong with that kind of martial art.

This is the first time for me to blog about Macross Frontier even though I have watched it since it’s premier. It’s just that I didn’t watch the previous seasons of Macross.
I didn’t liked the first part of the episode because all they did was to recapitulate what happened so far. Good thing there were songs that didn’t make me bored. So far, it really is puzzling and I like animes like these. There are so many mysteries that awaits to be disclosed. By the way, Grace became the leader of Sheryl’s new project[does that mean Sheryl was dumped? *hehe* go Ranka!!!]. I almost forgot that this series is Macross, a MECHA anime. It almost looked to me as if its a musical anime. Even so, it’s great.
This episode is very hilarious. I did saw Ranka and Sheryl in a showdown! Haha, this episode is cool. Ranka seems to have grown her confidence ever since she was discovered. I emphatize Alto because he has to choose between the two ladies. By the way, quality check, Sheryl looks like a zombie at the hospital.
I haven’t notice that the full version of the song “What ’bout my star? @Formo” also includes May’n if not for this episode. I realized that it really is not Nakajima Megumi’s voice only. The production of this anime seems very expensive. I love the songs that Kanno Yoko makes. The Aimo thing is the only thing very unclear for me because it is Russian. I also kind of annoyed by the song with the lyrics “…Sheryl on stage…” What the hell was that? May’n’s gonna say that in a live performance? XD Better not… Or maybe she could do a cosplay of Sheryl while singing it so that it wouldn’t sound awkward. It would look awkward though
I don’t know who makes the choreography of Sheryl and Ranka but it is fun to watch. First, I was kind of searching what the hell is that “nyan nyan” thing… then here goes “kyun kyun” and lastly the “Kirah!” stuff.

Asuna Vesperina Theotanasia Entheofushia.
Yes, Now I’m contented that what happened with the first Mahou Sensei Negima anime was wrong. Really wrong. It was just confirmed that Asuna was once a princess. To be clear, she is the Twilight Imperial Princess of Ostia in the Magic World. Her ability to cancel magic is innate[Chapter 220]. It was NEVER granted by any demon [according to the 1st anime].
I surmise that she was the one that triggered the radicals in the Magic World to take action. She holds a mysterious power that could threaten the Magic World. In that case, she must be the target of the enemies that Ala Rubra fought. Based on Rakan’s explanation to Negi, even though Nagi is regarded as a hero who stopped the “rebels”, it looks like they failed to protect Asuna’s origin/ the floating ruins of Ostia.
I don’t know the reason why she forgot her memories(maybe someone did some spell on it). It was once said by Setsuna that it looks like Asuna was just remembering her fighting skills from the past. It might be true because she came from a royal family. She can now summon the true sword more often than that of the harisen during adeat after gaining some of her memories.
By the way, what happened to Anya?~ I thought I saw her with Fate. hmm…

Hmm, probably almost anyone who watches anime knows what Sunrise is. It is an Anime Producer Company. They are very notable for their trademark works. That is MECHAS. Mechas is a genre of anime which has something to do with robots, might it be humanoid or whatever in any sense. Gundam is the very example of that they’ve done many series of Gundams already and they haven’t get tired yet of robot designs. I don’t know how they do researches but their group really is something. They can come up with something spectacular that has something to do with robots and war. Maybe these guys are just war-mongers. Code Geass on the other hand deals with rebellion. You really can notice similarity with the animes that they produce and make.
There is not mecha? Ah yes, that is InuYasha. Even so, it involves fist-fighting and “Vengeance” to Naraku. They are quite violent, no?
Anyway, let’s get to the topic. Maybe Sunrise decided to break their culture. They decided to make Code Geass because they saw Death Note relished by the viewers because of its JUSTICE concept. Now they tried to make an anime to break the ice that does parodies just like Lucky Star which grabbed many otakus out there. (not that it’s moe though.)
I’m seeing a glimpse of Gintama every now and then because my brother watches it for breaks whenever he is bored. Gintama has a very vague story line. It doesn’t have a clear plot what’s gonna happen next in the show. It is very random so I didn’t like it at first. As the show progresses/as I see few more episodes, I grew to like it because the plot line is very unpredictable. I just laugh about everything when it just doesn’t make sense anymore. The producers seems very whimsical and I was convinced by that when I watched the raw episode 50 - I guess, the episode where the characters talk of what’s gonna happen to Gintama. It was very fabulous when I saw the DragonBleaPiece part. Their parodies were blatant than any other shows, my brother and I are just surprised when there would be a different opening which was a parody.
I can say that they allocated an amount for Gintama’s production, it’s just that I feel that Sunrise is still focusing with their mecha stuffs. Right after Code Geass, Gundam 00 Season 2 would be aired. Gintama stayed too long on the production because it has an average rating and liked by hardcore fans. Not because Sunrise focus on developing it’s story line.
I don’t know if they could still fix the story line of the anime after all the parodies they’ve done. It’s very sad that comedy genre animes have good episodic plots but not for the entire anime. I hope they could end it decently just like every mecha animes they had produced.
By the way, I read this interesting article about the shortage of wooden swords sold in Hokkaido. They say that it was because of Gintoki’s popularity. It is just a possibility though because the buyers were foreigners and maybe they did buy the sword solely for the sake of souvenir for their kids at home[better than the real one].

I have been searching for manga now and then of Gakuen Alice. I have found this link recommended by OneManga for the anime. They do the scanlations yey~! They translated from the part where the anime ends so I can follow it even though there are some missing links like seeing a penguin [which is Amanatsu in anime]. I also saw some 15 year old drawings and I don’t know if they did really aged in the academy after several years. I found out that they just ate an age-altering candy. By the way, they’ve got the scans at rapidshare so it’s very accesible, it might be slow to download though.
The sad part is that they haven’t finished translating yet and they’ve only got chapters 29 - 46. The manga is supposedly 99 chapters and ongoing according to Wikipedia. It was a very short read I did. I kind of feel discontented with what I read because I stopped right in the middle of something. There were few characters that were introduced and this “Second Alice” of Mikan hasn’t been introduced yet. That is the part I want to read. It was so stubborn of me, I really want to read it and I ended up being spoiled XD.
There is a new villain other than Reo this time so I think it is still worth reading. There were also a lot of character developments for the other class members Iincho, Ruka and Natsume. Iincho had often scenes because something terrible happened to him. It was shown in the manga that Iincho really plays a big part on the class. He is also an important friend for both Mikan and Hotaru[eventhough he is always low in dialogues]. Ruka is very determined to win Mikan’s heart and he does everything to protect her. Meanwhile, Natsume is so concerned with Ruka and Mikan eventhough it means hiding the truth from them.
They’ve also got this character named “ZERO” . I don’t know why anime producers/ mangakas are fond of that name.

For those who don’t know the series yet, it is better to read my first post about this anime because it has the brief introduction than what I’m going to tell here.
Well, because I don’t see too many interested, then I’ll do it on my own… I’ve wanted to do this right after the very first airing of episode 1 but there were no fansubbers and I’m not sooofluent to understand several Jap words to just watch the raw vids.
The first scenes/introduction of the anime seemed to me like Gurren Lagann because of the title says about the world(setting of the anime) because he speaks of beastmen and human’s world which is ruled by the beastmen ( sounds familiar right?) The opening theme of the anime is very funky and it’s not too fit for the anime (for me).
I gave time for this series to have an entry because it really is interesting. Usual RPGs have heroes that fight monsters, find more allies and anything else just to save the world. This anime is different. It does the opposite. The heroes of this anime wants to destroy the world and it makes me nuts. I don’t why Morte really really hate the world but isn’t there any other method to save the world(which is sometimes the plot of other RPGs). Yeah, yeah, whatever, let’s give them the stage so that they could continue the production. The job for us is to find out if they did a good job.
The 4channers seems not to like it and says that it is just a mediocre anime. It is decent for an anime of this age. It doesn’t have that much impact when I watched the first episode but who knows? It might do something really nasty at the middle to grab many admirers? That is why I’m planning to watch closely this series. It seems to be very confident that it will hit the market. Hmm… Maybe because they’ve got the manpower of some of the known people, seiyuus and Production IG.
The plot is very vague( just as what Kyrie stated himself in the episode 1). I don’t know how they would make the story revolve but so far… I don’t see the importance why Toppi got involved in the party other than he was just drag into the trouble. I think they should focus first on character development before having others on the party. I didn’t like it that way as well because I think that’s the reason why Chrono Cross has too many characters. Anyway, it is known that they are only 6 in the party but the reason why they joined Morte should be a valid one right?
