Wild ARMs 5 - Sad :(

wild arms 5Hmm, I haven’t visited this blog of mine because I was busy of one thing. That is to finish Wild ARMs 5…

Yeah, I have already blogged it once before because I wrote here that my bro will bring the PS2 with him when he’ll go overseas. That is the reason why I was rushing to finish it. Thank goodness I made it. He plans to go this August he said… huhuhu… Goodbye PS2… :( Well enough of that.

Spoiler Alert!

Wild ARMs 5 is really depressing :( . Avril’s ending was indeed very depressing of all heroine I’ve seen. Her fate was to repeat and repeat the process of her entering the cold sleep, waking up, entering the cold sleep and so on. The present Avril said that Avril had already accepted her fate right after she remembered her memories and that’s just too sad… Her fate was to suffer in cycle…

This “tear” when Avril and Dean first met is also bugging me when it always come across the topic…  The name “DEAN” was also the name you should type at the Baskar’s Temple to enter and I don’t think that it is just a mere coincidence. The part where Ice Queen was also confronted gives me the puzzle in mind what the hell is happening. The cut scenes at that part are very vague and I didn’t understand until I saw the ending o_O . The one that sacrificed to return the time convergence was Avril herself which cause her to travel back 12,000 years ago right before she enters the cold sleep. Since history is repeating itself, I bet she already made several round trips. That was the reason why she shed a tear when she said that she saw Dean “again”. That word always keep popping around when Avril is speaking and it gives me the creeps what really happened in the past. I’m having hunches about Avril when she tried to put her medium on one of the temples that project one’s memoirs. It’s as if she had experienced being with the party for a long time. At first, I though Dean and the others were the reincarnation of Avril’s past friends. But then, the clues that Rebecca’s diary gave helped me a lot to predict such sad ending… Her narration is very reflective and I can immediately sense that something is wrong.

The picture above depicts Avril entering the cold slumber once again– :(

The ending was good and very dramatic. The plot was also great and the game was not that difficult to beat. The character development is clearly portrayed on every  cheezy cut scenes. It would be more enjoyable though if these cut scenes were voice acted. I also liked the background musics played along with the final part of the game. I was only sad that they were lazy to voice act the ending part. If only they voice act the ending part, I think more people would appreciate the ending.

I’m also curious what happened to the other companions of Dean (Greg, Carol and Chuck). Their endings were not shown but I think theirs are pretty happy I guess, except Greg’s because he won’t be able to turn back the lives of his wife and son.

Too bad this is the first time I ever played a Wild ARMs so I won’t be able to compare it to the other installments. Overall, I liked the game because of the ending. The producers are also creative to create difficult puzzles(yeah, I used a walkthrough so I will make it on time.) Sadly, I only unlocked the New Game+ . I wasn’t able to buy any equipment at the black market. I wasn’t able to get their ultimate bullets. The game is already easy to beat without it. I’d like to see the unique outfits though. I also didn’t do any side quests but I ended up at lvl 95 when I fought the final boss which I think overkill since the boss is just lvl 70. Happy playing maties. I’m sorry too if I spoiled your game play~ :P . But believe me, this game is worth it.

I’m also planning to play the previous installments if I’ll be given the time.

Moribito Series -I wanna get hold of it!-

BalsaYeah right, as if I’m a bibliophile. But I’m not. But I feel good when I’m surrounded by books. I’m not so much into reading books though. As far as I know I can count the books I have finished reading in my hands XD. BUT! If its fiction and anime-related I think(yes, I’m very motivated) I can read and finish it.

Moribito series were first published as literature materials for the children because it is a great example of book that could drag you in the flow of the story. The thing is, the story itself is just too fantastic for the kids, it had many adult fans so I guess this can be put to the category “I’m so lazy to read it so please turn it to an anime”. Geez, even I admits that it is boring to read books especially when they are way too predictable. Well, I guess  this one is different. It falls under historical fantasy. It maybe fiction, but the author’s brilliant ideas makes it as if it really happened. The parallel universe concept of the story also intrigues me a lot because I rarely see stories that uses it because it’s way toooo fiction so I think I’ll recognize it for that.

It also very enjoyable because Balsa embarks on a journey. Journey/Adventure animes are always whimsical because you don’t know what happens next. I grew to like InuYasha(even though it has many episodes) because of its adventure as well. Balsa is same in that way but also different. She didn’t embark on a journey to battle ugly monsters just to defeat the wicked boss at the end(I’m referring to Naraku). Because it is historical fantasy, there are overflowing ideas of the author that is shown in the story. I don’t even know if it is true or not(or do I even care). I just love how the story goes.

I really want to read the books if ever they just made the first volume in order to made some advertisement for the book. Uhm, I guess even if they made the anime for all the Moribito series, I still prefer to keep the books because I bet it contains some information that is different from the anime!~ Then, I’ll be able to criticize if the anime is of the same level as the book. Sounds fun right~ I find this enjoyable because I occassionaly keep an eye to books. I already said to my brother that I want a copy so I think I’ll be expecting it this year! I hope my brother would give an effort to look for the book…

By the way, I’m not expecting for the whole series of the book. I think the first volume is the only one translated so far (Seirei no Moribito).

Wild ARMs: The Vth Vanguard

deanstark
I’ve been playing this for the past 6 months I guess…

In terms of the playing hours, I’ve been playing this game for nearly 2 days. To be precise, I’ve been playing it for 40++ hours. It’s been a while since I planned to “finish” a RPG. The last RPG I remember I finished was FF Tactics so it’s really been a long time since then. Something(or was it someone?) motivated me to finish this RPG for this might be the last PS2 RPG that I might ever play. Too sad eh?

I don’t want spoilers so I won’t narrate too much detail when it comes to the story. The characters of Wild Arms 5 are well-developed. They really have the reason to join the party and defeat the radicals. The main plot of the story is how the party would be able to break the wall between the two races; Human and Verunis, which is one and the same before some time.

Dean Stark is the main protagonist, he is totally dense. He is obsessed with the idea of being a golem hunter and had Nightburn, the number one golem hunter, as his idol. He loves golems very much that he would dig everytime just to find a golem part. An incident changed his perspective and decided to travel with the others. He is very idealistic that most of the characters are annoyed. Even so, he is considered very influential to all his comrades.

Rebecca Streisand  is Dean’s childhood friend who seems to have a crushon him. Knowing Dean, a totally dense person, she never dare to confess it even though she seems to exert effort so that Dean would realize. She plays the part of the narrator because she kept a diary since the start of their journey. She is also the coolest character for me for she can do acrobatic-shooting.

Avril Vent Fleur is the reason why the boring days of Dean and Rebecca progressed. She had a grand entrance from the sky alongside with a golem. Coincidentally, Dean and Rebecca is at the site where she landed. She woke up without any trace of her memories except the word “Johnny Appleseed” and the dual ARMs she carries which she gave to Dean. She was accompanied by Dean and Rebecca on a journey in order to regain her memories.

Chuck Preston was soon introduced but the last one to join the party. He is the golem apprentice that was mistaken to be the thief that stole the artifact from a town. With the help of Avril, he was saved from being hanged. He was resolved by the party to do something instead of watching each of his friends from his hometown to be taken away by the Verunis. He joined the party last.

Greg Russelberg is a renowned golem crusher and fugitive during this time. He had once a family that was murdered by a man with a golem’s arm. That was the day that he swore to destroy all the golems and kill that man in order to deliver his vengeance. He soon met Dean and the party. Dean was angry the fact that Greg is crushing golems but he believed that he is a good person. Greg somehow remembers his son whenever Dean is with him. He agreed to accompany the party believing that he will meet the person who killed his family once he join the party. He promised as well not to destroy golems to Dean during the journey.

Carol Anderson is the klutz but very reliable comrade of the party. Despite of being small, she is capable of defending herself just fine. She is also very knowledgeable to the things going around the Filgaia because she grew under the premises of Professor Elvis. She decided to search for her professor and went to a journey but met the party. Avril reminds her of the professor so she decided to go with them while also searching for her professor. She also considers Dean as her big brother. She is afraid of being alone again so she seek the company of others and she finally knew herself what to do since she met the party.

I don’t like to introduce the antagonists ^^.

I like the HEX system of the game. I wonder though how does one bullet hit multiple enemies in one HEX. Anyway, I also like the dual tech system because it reminds me of Chrono Trigger/Cross. My favorite Dual Tech is…

triggerrondo

Trigger Rondo!~ Dean and Rebecca are very cool during the Dual Tech. It is also not so exaggerated unlike the other dual techs.

The story is kind of puzzling during the later part. I’m already at that part so I hope I could finish this game soon.

This is actually my first Wild Arms game so maybe I would try to play the rest as well.

Time Killer

I haven’t lately open-up my account in Neopets so I had an encounter with this new time killer my brother had introduced me…

moshimoshi You just have to click for the image to get to their main page. The monsters here are way cuter than Neopets’. I will still try to visit both of my accounts though. The game in the Monstro-City called En-Gen is very enjoying. I played it for more than hours! I hope my I.Q. will increase after playing their witty puzzles and playing the best time-killer En-Gen puzzle game. The mechanics of the game is to connect four blocks of the same color to generate the power needed. The wattage serves as the timer of the game which decreases from time to time because of consumption. Having connected four blocks would also generate wattage that could replace the diminished wattage in the timer. There are also “levels” in the game which serves as challenge. Leveling up means having your timer sped up. If the wattage bar got empty your game will be considered over… My high score so far is 50000+ megawatts (level 17) — in Medium preference.

Interested or what? Hahaha, I’m not forcing you to adopt one if ever you get the chance to read this(very slight probability) well it’s your choice… If you don’t have any hobbies then please try and don’t forget to add me as your friend! Hahaha… my name in moshimonsters is kitaro[You’re right if you’re thinking about spooky kitaro]

MoshiMonsters is much more interactive than Neopets. Eventhough it is interactive, I bet this game is not for kids because it is a battle of wits just to gain Rox[considered as the currency] by answering daily puzzle that would absolutely tease your senses. As a positive outcome, it might help you improve your speed in comprehension. So it really is not just playing for the sake of having the CUTE monster. Every owner/ parent as they say is held liable for the monster so you are obliged to feed it… pamper it and love it. If you are not ready to do this every time in the net, then you’re better not having one. You see, this game also aims to teach the importance of responsibilities.

Better read what’s it all about in the site ^^
