Kure-nai -Feminist?-

kurenaiAnd yes… I have finished Kure-nai because I was intrigued when I saw it weeks ago on several anime blogs.

This anime is sooo great! I become so compulsive to dug up my 4th year high school stuffs again because I remember similar piece with the anime. I dug all my stuffs. It is included in a special volume of our hand-outs. But I didn’t found it >_< I was so agitated why the heck I lost it. I was so desperate that I even ask my former classmate if she still remember where she kept it and if she could scan it for me… But she doesn’t remember :( . It was until I researched in the internet. I realized that it was in Tagalog! How am I suppose to post it as an entry if only few people could understand it XD. By the way, the piece I’ve been searching is titled(somehow~ I can’t remember the exact title) Liham ni Estella Zeehandelaar — In English, A Letter from Estella Zeehandelaar (something like that~ but I’m sure with the person’s name) and the author is Raden Ayu Kartini.

I can really relate with the setting of the anime because we have had studied it on one of our subjects during high school, this “evil tradition” to seclude women of certain countries from the outside world. Well, it was just great that I have to blog it. I was kind of searching for this kind of animes to gather and collect animes that can proof that animes are not worthless stuffs. It is good that I found an anime that I could relate with pieces that deals Feminism.

The ending of both the anime and the piece I’ve read is nearly the same. They both didn’t reached this so-called freedom that they say but they are trying their best in order to break the chains and discard this evil tradition of them. It is just very Feminist right?(Considering that the author is male). Their motive as well is to find someone that they could truly love and not someone that was picked for them. By the way, the setting of the piece I mentioned is in Indonesia. I don’t know if traditions like that also exists on Japan. The difference is just, the woman on the piece got no any bodyguard. She is locked on the room since the day she turned 16.

Feminism was also shown through Tamaki, Yayoi and Benika of course. It really is very visible(having just a one male character). It was just annoying that the female lead has to be a child(unwanted pedos are also lured -_-).

The story must have been more realistic without the “horn”/”spike” that comes out every now and then. Just that. I didn’t say that it ruined the show but it would be more awesome if it is more realistic without the ninja stuff. It satisfied my hunger for action. The 720 degrees kicks are just cool@! I don’t know why Shinkurou is often depicted as weak when he is very strong with that kind of martial art.

Triangler Attack!

triangler

This is the first time for me to blog about Macross Frontier even though I have watched it since it’s premier. It’s just that I didn’t watch the previous seasons of Macross.

I didn’t liked the first part of the episode because all they did was to recapitulate what happened so far. Good thing there were songs that didn’t make me bored. So far, it really is puzzling and I like animes like these. There are so many mysteries that awaits to be disclosed. By the way, Grace became the leader of Sheryl’s new project[does that mean Sheryl was dumped? *hehe* go Ranka!!!]. I almost forgot that this series is Macross, a MECHA anime. It almost looked to me as if its a musical anime. Even so, it’s great.

This episode is very hilarious. I did saw Ranka and Sheryl in a showdown! Haha, this episode is cool. Ranka seems to have grown her confidence ever since she was discovered. I emphatize Alto because he has to choose between the two ladies. By the way, quality check, Sheryl looks like a zombie at the hospital.

I haven’t notice that the full version of the song “What ’bout my star? @Formo” also includes May’n if not for this episode. I realized that it really is not Nakajima Ai’s voice only. The production of this anime seems very expensive. I love the songs that Kanno Yoko makes. The Aimo thing is the only thing very unclear for me because it is Russian. I also kind of annoyed by the song with the lyrics “…Sheryl on stage…” What the hell was that? May’n’s gonna say that in a live performance? XD Better not… Or maybe she could do a cosplay of Sheryl while singing it so that it wouldn’t sound awkward. It would look awkward though :P

I don’t know who makes the choreography of Sheryl and Ranka but it is fun to watch. First, I was kind of searching what the hell is that “nyan nyan” thing… then here goes “kyun kyun” and lastly the “Kirah!” stuff.

Asuna’s True Identity

asunaAsuna Vesperina Theotanasia Entheofushia.

Yes, Now I’m contented that what happened with the first Mahou Sensei Negima anime was wrong. Really wrong. It was just confirmed that Asuna was once a princess. To be clear, she is the Twilight Imperial Princess of Ostia in the Magic World. Her ability to cancel magic is innate[Chapter 220]. It was NEVER granted by any demon [according to the 1st anime].

I surmise that she was the one that triggered the radicals in the Magic World to take action. She holds a mysterious power that could threaten the Magic World. In that case, she must be the target of the enemies that Ala Rubra fought. Based on Rakan’s explanation to Negi, even though Nagi is regarded as a hero who stopped the “rebels”, it looks like they failed to protect Asuna’s origin/ the floating ruins of Ostia.

I don’t know the reason why she forgot her memories(maybe someone did some spell on it). It was once said by Setsuna that it looks like Asuna was just remembering her fighting skills from the past. It might be true because she came from a royal family. She can now summon the true sword more often than that of the harisen during adeat after gaining some of her memories.

By the way, what happened to Anya?~ I thought I saw her with Fate. hmm…

Gintama -A Sunrise Production?-

gintoki

Hmm, probably almost anyone who watches anime knows what Sunrise is. It is an Anime Producer Company. They are very notable for their trademark works. That is MECHAS. Mechas is a genre of anime which has something to do with robots, might it be humanoid or whatever in any sense. Gundam is the very example of that they’ve done many series of Gundams already and they haven’t get tired yet of robot designs. I don’t know how they do researches but their group really is something. They can come up with something spectacular that has something to do with robots and war. Maybe these guys are just war-mongers. Code Geass on the other hand deals with rebellion. You really can notice similarity with the animes that they produce and make.

There is not mecha? Ah yes, that is InuYasha. Even so, it involves fist-fighting and “Vengeance” to Naraku. They are quite violent, no?

Anyway, let’s get to the topic. Maybe Sunrise decided to break their culture. They decided to make Code Geass because they saw Death Note relished by the viewers because of its JUSTICE concept. Now they tried to make an anime to break the ice that does parodies just like Lucky Star which grabbed many otakus out there. (not that it’s moe though.)

I’m seeing a glimpse of Gintama every now and then because my brother watches it for breaks whenever he is bored. Gintama has a very vague story line. It doesn’t have a clear plot what’s gonna happen next in the show. It is very random so I didn’t like it at first. As the show progresses/as I see few more episodes, I grew to like it because the plot line is very unpredictable. I just laugh about everything when it just doesn’t make sense anymore. The producers seems very whimsical and I was convinced by that when I watched the raw episode 50 - I guess, the episode where the characters talk of what’s gonna happen to Gintama. It was very fabulous when I saw the DragonBleaPiece part. Their parodies were blatant than any other shows, my brother and I are just surprised when there would be a different opening which was a parody.

I can say that they allocated an amount for Gintama’s production, it’s just that I feel that Sunrise is still focusing with their mecha stuffs. Right after Code Geass, Gundam 00 Season 2 would be aired. Gintama stayed too long on the production because it has an average rating and liked by hardcore fans. Not because Sunrise focus on developing it’s story line.

I don’t know if they could still fix the story line of the anime after all the parodies they’ve done. It’s very sad that comedy genre animes have good episodic plots but not for the entire anime. I hope they could end it decently just like every mecha animes they had produced.

By the way, I read this interesting article about the shortage of wooden swords sold in Hokkaido. They say that it was because of Gintoki’s popularity. It is just a possibility though because the buyers were foreigners and maybe they did buy the sword solely for the sake of souvenir for their kids at home[better than the real one].

Gakuen Alice - [Manga]

nikantaru

I have been searching for manga now and then of Gakuen Alice. I have found this link recommended by OneManga for the anime. They do the scanlations yey~! They translated from the part where the anime ends so I can follow it even though there are some missing links like seeing a penguin [which is Amanatsu in anime]. I also saw some 15 year old drawings and I don’t know if they did really aged in the academy after several years. I found out that they just ate an age-altering candy. By the way, they’ve got the scans at rapidshare so it’s very accesible, it might be slow to download though.

The sad part is that they haven’t finished translating yet and they’ve only got chapters 29 - 46. The manga is supposedly 99 chapters and ongoing according to Wikipedia. It was a very short read I did. I kind of feel discontented with what I read because I stopped right in the middle of something. There were few characters that were introduced and this “Second Alice” of Mikan hasn’t been introduced yet. That is the part I want to read. It was so stubborn of me, I really want to read it and I ended up being spoiled XD.

There is a new villain other than Reo this time so I think it is still worth reading. There were also a lot of character developments for the other class members Iincho, Ruka and Natsume. Iincho had often scenes because something terrible happened to him. It was shown in the manga that Iincho really plays a big part on the class. He is also an important friend for both Mikan and Hotaru[eventhough he is always low in dialogues]. Ruka is very determined to win Mikan’s heart and he does everything to protect her. Meanwhile, Natsume is so concerned with Ruka and Mikan eventhough it means hiding the truth from them.

They’ve also got this character named “ZERO” . I don’t know why anime producers/ mangakas are fond of that name.
